Low cholesterol, Low calorie, Low saturated fat, Diet, Gold Medal Caramel Bars Recipe
18 -1/4 ounce reduced fat chocolate cake mix
14 ounce sweetened condensed skim milk
12 -1/4 ounce fat-free caramel topping
2 tablespoons semisweet chocolate chips
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Prepare a 9 x 13-inch pan with cooking spray; set aside.
In a mixing bowl, combine cake mix and sweetened condensed skim milk. Batter will be thick.
Press 2/3 of batter into prepared pan. Bake for 8 minutes. Remove from oven and pour caramel topping over cake. Sprinkle with chocolate chips. Crumble remaining batter over top.
Bake for 17 minutes more or until top is dry to the touch. Cool.
Makes 24 servings.
COMMENT: Although a good diet receipe, definitly a low cal, low fat, low cholesterol and low saturated fat alternative, for those of us on a strict diet, the calorie count still needs to be watched.
