What is BMI?

Defintion Of BMI

BMI is the number which results from the BMI METRIC equation: body weight (kg) / ( height(m) x height(m) ). BMI is normally expressed kg / m2, but this is seldom shown when giving the BMI result.

BMI Imperial equation: (703 x body weight(lbs))/(height(inches) x (height(inches)). The BMI interpretation is exactly the same as for the metric and would also be expressed in kg/m2. This is because the BMI calculation also converts the imperial BMI to the metric BMI equivalent.
